1. How do I get started with driving lessons?

First you must have your state issue learners permit, then just reach out to schedule your lesson.

3. What is the main goal of S&J driving school?

The main goal at S&J Driving School is to provide student driver with the knowledge and training to become safe, reliable, confident drivers.

4. How old do I have to be to take driving lessons?

You must be at least 15 years old and you must have a state issued learners permit but you’re never to old to learn!

5. Do I use my car for the driving lessons?

No. The lessons will be done in my insured company car with a passenger side brake.

6. What do I need to bring for my lessons?

All you need is your valid state issued learners  permit and corrective lenses if required for driving.

7. How many lessons will I need?

Every student is different and every student’s situation is different and there are several things that factor in to how many lessons you will need…

-do you have any driving experience?

-will you be able to practice in between your driving lessons?

-how nervous or confident are you about driving?

-how serious are you about driving?

-how fast will you learn and be able to drive safely without full time instruction?

Generally would recommend 3lessons minimum

8. What will be covered in the driving lessons?

Baesd on where you are with your experience, we will start there and cover everything you need to know to be a safe, confident,reliable, successful driver and pass the drivers exam.

9. Do you teach nervous drivers or people with anxiety issues?

I have taught many students that were nervous, (some actually terrified) had anxiety issues and several other clinical diagnosis.

10. Do you offer evening or weekend lessons?

Yes I do offer some weekends and evenings to accommodate scheduling issues or for those that need nighttime driving experience.

11. What is you cancelation policy?

Cancellation policy can be found on website.

12. What if the weather is bad the day of my lessons?

Bad weather driving is a part of life and at some point you will have to drive in it! When the weather is questionable please reach out if you feel the need. For my safety and yours, I always check road conditions before doing a lesson. If the roads are not favorable, I will reschedule your lesson for another day. Rain is not a reason to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

13. Do you offer the state road exam?

No, you must go to the DMV to take your road exam. I will prep you for the test, including practice in the testing area.

14. Can i use your car for the road test?

Yes, we can make arrangements for you to take the test in my car but I always recommend taking the test in the car you will be driving after pass the test.

15. Will taking driving school lower my insurance rates?

You will have to contact your provider for that information.

16. Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes.. once you have taken driving lessons with S&J driving school and successfully passed the state road exam, you will be issued a certificate.

17. Do i have to come to your location?

No..You don’t have to go anywhere. I come to you at your location and drop you back off.

18. How long are the driving lessons?

Each lesson is two hours. I’ve found that 2hrs provides enough to to introduce new skills and plenty of time to practice them thoroughly and give feedback without to much stress.

19. How much are the lessons?

Each lesson is $140 for a 2hr lesson.. I do occasionally offer special pricing.
