S&J Driving School – Cancellation & No-Show Policy

 

At S&J Driving School, I’m committed to providing quality instruction, consistent scheduling, and a respectful learning environment for every student. In return, I ask for the same level of courtesy and responsibility when it comes to your scheduled driving lessons.

Time is valuable—not just for me, but for other students waiting to book time slots. To maintain an organized schedule and ensure fairness to all, the following policy is in place regarding cancellations, no-shows, and rescheduling.

 

Cancellations.. 24Hours’ Notice Required

If you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson, please notify me at 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time. This allows me the opportunity to offer your time slot to another student.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a $25 late cancellation fee, which must be paid before any further lessons can be scheduled.

I understand that unexpected things can happen, but I kindly ask that you respect this window whenever possible.

 

Same-Day Cancellations / At-the-Time-of-Appointment

If you cancel within 1 hour of your scheduled lesson, or if you cancel at the time of your appointment, it will be treated the same as a no-show.

These short-notice cancellations cannot be filled by another student on such short notice, and as a result, you will be charged the full cost of the lesson.

 

No-Shows

A “no-show” is defined as failing to arrive for your scheduled lesson without giving prior notice. This includes being significantly late (15+ minutes) with no communication.

No-shows are charged the full price of the lesson and may result in loss of future scheduling privileges.

Two or more no-shows may result in termination of service at my discretion.

Multiple cancellations or no-shows may require a 50% nonrefundable deposit to secure future lesson bookings.

 

Frequent Cancellations or No-Shows

Consistency is critical to making progress as a new driver. If there are multiple cancellations or no-shows, I may require a 50% nonrefundable deposit to secure future lesson bookings.

This policy is not meant to be punitive—it simply helps ensure that my time and resources are respected, while encouraging students to stay committed and accountable.

Emergencies & Weather

I understand that genuine emergencies happen, and I do not charge for lessons canceled due to verified emergencies or unsafe weather conditions (such as snow, ice, or flooding).

However, being called into work or forgetting your appointment is not considered an emergency.

If you’re unsure whether weather conditions are safe, feel free to reach out to me directly. I will always prioritize safety and will reschedule without penalty if necessary.

Please include your name, scheduled date/time, and whether you’d like to cancel or reschedule.
